Heavy wall centrifuge bottles have beaded necks and use No. 6 rubber stoppers. These bottles have a small bottom area and are designed for use where relatively small amounts of solids are involved, which permits concentration of sediment for decanting operations. Due to the heavy wall, the actual capacity is approximately 85% of the capacity listed.

This heavy wall centrifuge bottle has a tight-fitting polypropylene screw caps (1262-CO) with GPI 38-400 threads and PTFE liners to reduce the possibility of aerosol escape. These bottles are particularly useful in handling sputum specimens and enable digestion, shaking, neutralizing and centrifuging to be performed in one vessel.
